We (5 adults) stopped in Cozumel on a cruise ship and we’re so pleased with our excursion to meet Carlos and his family at the farm. Leaving the port, we made a right and walked about 2 blocks to find the 7-11 (next to the Pemex gas station) to meet our driver. We had booked the 9am departure but I hadn’t realized our ship didn’t dock until 10am. They were kind enough to let us take the excursion at 12pm instead. We were escorted to a taxi that drove us to the two-acre farm. There we met Carlos who told us about the history of the farm, many of the fruit trees, and the animals. Following these explanations (about 90 minutes), we sat down to try some local drinks like Horchata, coconut, and tequila. Afterward, we “helped” Carlos make some snacks (a Mayan pumpkin dip and guacamole) and then ate some chicken sopes. (It was all delicious!) Soon after, our taxi came to drive us back to the port. This was a great opportunity to meet locals and better understand life in Cozumel. 5 stars!!
Carlos was amazing, we’ve been to Cozumel three times and this was our favorite experience so far. Food and tequila were amazing!
We arrived & was greeted by Carlos, who was very friendly, personable & funny. We learned about their family farm & a lot about how tequila is made. We drank coconut water & enjoyed delicious drinks. The highlight of our trip!
We learned about the process for tequila and made the best guacamole I have ever eaten. It was a great experience!
First off Carlos and Gabriel were amazing. They entertained, the fed us good food and showed us their little farm. But this is not a cooking class. This is a tequila farm tour and tasting. My 13 Year old had a blast chasing chickens, but couldn't really partake in much else. We made some guacamole and some salsa that I will make again for sure!!!! But the only cooking done is by Carlos! Still two thumbs up absolutely!
This was one of the most amazing days of vacation! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The farm is a special place and Carlos was an excellent host! We cannot wait to return. The food, the atmosphere, and the fun we had was so memorable. Did I say the food, so yummy! You will learn, have fun, and leave satisfied :)
